Marbella International Film Festival

Wednesday, October 8, saw the long-awaited opening ceremony for the 10th edition of the Marbella International Film Festival at the Goya Theatre in Puerto Banus.

The spectacular roof terrace witnessed a plethora of film directors, producers and lead actors attending the event and enjoying the wonderful canapés and champagne set in an amazing location with beautiful sea views.

Festival founder and director, Mac Chakaveh, welcomed his guests and wished them all “the best of luck” in this year’s edition of one of the best and most prolific film festivals staged in Europe.

Speaking to the Euro Weekly News, Justin Hunt from the USA, two times award winner and director of this year´s feature “Far too far,” attended the event with his team. He hopes this year the saying; “there’s no two without three” becomes true.

Victor Perez, director of the short called “Another love,” also attended the event and said how excited he was to take part in this year’s festival and how anxious he was to see his short screened that same afternoon.

In an exclusive interview with the producer of the documentary “Street Kids United II: Girl from Rio,” Conrad Alleblas, from the Netherlands, who had just arrived in Marbella after taking part in the San Sebastian film festival, told the EWN how amazing the experience of making the documentary was and how they had accompanied the Brazilian ‘Favela Street Girls’ to represent Brazil during the Street Child World Cup 2014.  

Alejandro Itkin, Director of the feature ‘Single in South Beach,’ also attended the event with his beautiful wife and explained how “wonderful it is to be in Spain and to be able to enjoy a film festival in such an extraordinary setting as Marbella.”
