INVESTIGATIONS are underway to try to discover the identity of a man found dead on waste ground near Cala Blava in Llucmajor on Saturday (October 3.)
The body was spotted near a pine grove by a hiker, who alerted the authorities.
A Guardia Civil patrol was sent to the scene and, after an initial examination, confirmed the remains, in an advanced state of deterioration, were human but there was no ID to be found and the body bore no apparent signs of violence.
As officers continue work to identify the body and check missing persons lists, a post-mortem examination due to be carried out this week is hoped to shed some more light on the case.
