TELEFONICA will be spending about €500 million in Malaga Province between now and 2020 to get fibre optics to 97 per cent of the population.
On a visit to Malaga to give a conference, Telefonica in Spain president, Luis Miguel Gilperez, announced that the company will be spending €2.5 billion in Andalucia to improve services.
The company currently provides work, directly or indirectly, for 8,000 people in Andalucia, 1,700 of them in Malaga province.
Eventually, Gilperez said, Malaga will have better Internet connections than Paris or London.
