PROPERTY owners in Alozaina have had a shock as their IBI property taxes have increased by more than 200 per cent since 2007, a councillor has reported.
Partido Popular representative and councillor Jose Santaolalla reported: “The tax has trebled for many families. Those who paid €466 in 2007 will have to pay €1,463 this year.”
Mayor Antonio Perez meanwhile stated that when he came into office he found that IBI rates had not been revised for 20 years, meaning property owners had been undercharged, and argued that the same had happened in other villages in the area.
