POPPY APPEAL: The 2013 appeal was also launched in Benidorm.
THE Royal British Legion is officially launching the 2015 Poppy Appeal in Benidorm on October 14.
The Parade of Standards will commence at midday, led by the Torrevieja Pipes and Drums, from Calle Castello, proceeding along the Paseo of Levante beach towards the Rincon de Loix.
In attendance will be the mayor of Benidorm, Defence Attaché Captain Paul Lemkes RN, the British Vice Consul in Alicante Lloyd Millen and the Chairman of District North of the Royal British Legion in Spain, Nigel Hails.
Last year’s Poppy Appeal, which was launched last October in Torrevieja, raised €188,324.80.
