CLEANING work is due to be carried out on the old public washing area in Calle Isabel II in Soller. It has become a meeting point for youths who have left it full of rubbish and graffiti. The town hall complains that it also smells of urine and that fires have been lit inside which have damaged the walls.

Meanwhile, the Mallorca Government has begun restoration work on the water mill on the Coll d’en Rabassa roundabout, which is due to cost €56,682.

Built in the early 20th century, the mechanism was damaged in a fire in 2013 and will be repaired by members of the Historical-Industrial Heritage workshop in Son Bonet, Marratxi. The structure is also being restored by company Refoart and should take two months.
