Expats are important in Estepona

EXPATRIATES are an important part of Estepona, in fact foreign residents from more than 100 different countries make up 30 per cent of the population, and activities are being planned to meet their specific needs.

At the latest of her three-monthly meetings with the expatriate community, Tourism Councillor, Ana Velasco, announced a social event for Tuesday, October 6 which includes a talk by marketing and networking expert Georgina Shaw on how to keep up with local matters using the internet and social media.

The meeting also served to inform the residents of the more than 40 courses offered this year by the council and cultural activities planned for the near future, and the councillor further explained the importance of registering on the padron (residents’ register) and took note of residents’ suggestions and proposals.
