THE largest Internet-based retailer in the United States, Amazon, has reported that they are banning the sales of Apple and Google TV devices as they don’t “interact well” with its own media service.

The online retailer said it wants to sell products that work with its in-house streaming video service known as Prime Video which Apple TV and Google’s Chromecast don’t support.

The company said along with its own Fire TV, it will continue to sell other companies’ devices that are compatible with Prime Video, which include Microsoft’s Xbox, and Sony’s Playstation.

In 2015, Amazon surpassed Walmartas the most valuable retailer in the United States. Amazon.com started as an online bookstore, but soon diversified, selling a wide range of products ranging from DVDs, electronics, games etc.
