THE Calanova Cancer Care Charity Shop hosted a coffee morning to join the worldwide MacMillan Coffee Morning to raise money for the MacMillan nurses.

Weather was good last Friday for the event at the Agua Beach Hotel overlooking the sea in Palmanova. The owner Toni Neira and his son, Cristopher, had, as in previous years, offered the main terrace of the hotel for the event and the staff served people plenty of hot coffee with a smile as well as the cakes which had been baked and donated. People forgot about the calories and all that mattered was seeing old friends and making new ones. The event was well-attended and Liam gave his time to sing.

The organisers report that the morning was a great success and that there was a very happy atmosphere.

The total amount raised for the MacMillan nurses was €1,000 and the organisers thank everyone who made the event possible by helping, donating, organising and attending.
