THE Rincon de la Victoria Council is celebrating, for the first time, together with the APARAVI animal rights association, an awareness and adoption campaign called “Rincon Animal Heart.”
The event was designed to put the spotlight on the efforts of the municipal animal shelter, which has been operational for 17 years, as well as to support the works of all volunteers and members of the organisation, who currently assist more than 50 animals.
“For the first time, we can count on instructional support and we hope that with this campaign more people will be encouraged to participate as volunteers, members or by providing a temporary home for an ill animal,” said one of the volunteers, Maria Jesus Moreno.
A charity event will be held on October 4 at the Rincon de la Victoria sea front (in the area of the town hall) from 11am to 3pm, coinciding with International Animal Day. More than 5,000 informative brochures have been printed for the occasion and visitors will be able to learn about the adoption process and other matters.
