Man arrested after escape attempt fail

A MAN has been arrested in Los Barrios after trying to escape when the Guardia Civil spotted him unloading drugs from a boat and crashing his motorbike into a police car.

After spotting a boat off Punta Carnero, Guardia Civil patrols were sent out to possible unloading areas along the coast, the police force reported, and the boat, which was later found to be carrying 2,250 kilos of hashish, headed for the mouth of the Guadarranque river, where it ran aground.

As a patrol approached, the man was seen trying to unload packages from the boat, and tried to flee on a motorbike but crashed into the police car and injured himself.
