SPENDING by foreign tourists in the Valencia Region reached €3.97 billion so far this year up to the end of August, representing an increase of 6.6 per cent over the same period of 2014. That’s according to figures released by the survey of tourist spending from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.
Specifically, the visitors who spent most were British tourists, accounting for over 29 per cent of the total, spending €1.17 billion, followed by the French tourists who spent €521 million and Nordic with €458 million.
The figure spent by British visitors represented an increase of 10.7 per cent compared to last year with Nordic visitors spending 11.7 per cent than they did last year.
The same survey also showed that the average spending per foreign tourist in the area of the Costa Blanca during their trip was up in August and amounted to €863, representing an increase of 2.1 per cent over the same period of 2014. The average daily expenditure was €77.
