NEWS that will be welcomed by all new mothers is Torrevieja’s announcement of the opening of two nursing rooms in the city for breastfeeding.
Councillor for Commerce, Manuela Osuna, said the project had become a reality thanks to the collaboration of Torrevieja Hospital and the IMED clinic who “accepted the proposal and provided these businesses with the necessary infrastructure for it to be carried out.”
The rooms available to mothers for breastfeeding and caring for their babies are now situated in the Lillibyt and Peke Baby Centre store.
The councillor highlighted the importance of their inclusion to “avoid the inconvenience of not having an adequate place to breastfeed, change a nappy or give a baby a bottle.”
It is hoped the scheme will be rolled out to other commercial units on the industrial estate in the near future.
