THE Almuñecar Council has requested that the Junta de Andalucia regional government speed up the authorisation process and renovate the sewerage system in the La Herradura seafront.
The news was announced by Deputy Mayor, Juan Jose Ruiz Joya, who explained that it has been more than six months since a request was sent to the Environment Regional Department to carry out a project valued at more than €2.1 million.
These works are especially important, as the area is prone to severe flooding issues during the rainy season, frequently causing the complete saturation of sewerage systems and preventing residents from enjoying one of the most important public spaces of the town.
