Plaza de la Nogalera officially renamed in Torremolinos

AS of September 24, those who use the name Plaza de la Nogalera to refer to what used to be Torremolinos’s Plaza Jesus Santos Rein are no longer in the wrong as the council has officially renamed it.

The name change, along with that of Avenida Rafael Gomez Sanchez to Avenida de la Libertad, was approved by the council at a plenary session following a proposal by Ciudadanos political group.

The council’s plans to tear down the controversial Monument to the Tourist, a 20-metre column on the newly named Avenida de la Libertad, also continue although they have been delayed while a replacement is thought up.
