THE third golf course of the Axarquia region, Juvigolf, to be constructed in Chilches (Velez-Malaga), will be slightly smaller than originally planned.
A sentence issued by the Provincial Court of Malaga has cancelled the sale of 11,736 square metres of the total 1.7 million square metres initially agreed to be sold for the construction of the facilities.
The official complaint was initiated by one of the owners whose property was to be sold to the company. They had agreed to carry out the payment in three instalments, back in 2002: the first one priced at €27,046, the second one at €111,187 and the third one at €102,172. However the company did not satisfy the last instalment and the owner has retrieved the ownership of the property.
The Juvigolf project will see an investment of €300 million and include the creation of an 18-hole course, 1,534 homes, a four-star hotel, restaurants and sports facilities, amongst many others. It is expected to be completed between 2020 and 2025.
