SUNDAY September 27 sees World Maritime Day and for the first time, the Gibraltar Port Authority will participate by opening to the public. The theme this year is ‘Maritime Education and Training’ and the event aims to promote maritime careers for young people.
At a recent press conference, Deputy Captain of the Port, Manolo Tirado, and Senior Port Officer, Richard Requena revealed that the Gibraltar Port Authority has been preparing for the event for over a month
“We want to open the port of Gibraltar to the younger generation. This will be a great opportunity for schoolchildren to come along with their families. This will be a family day and we will be having displays, bouncy castles, food and beverages,” said Mr Tirado.
