Unqualified physio unmasked in Elche

THE professional College of Physiotherapists of the Valencian Community (ICOFCV) has denounced a person for being what they call a “pseudo-professional” for working without the correct qualifications.

The college is calling for prosecution against the person for crimes of misleading the public and a crime against public health after it was discovered they were offering full physiotherapist services in Elche despite only having “simple diplomas” relating to chiropractic courses and not being fully accredited.

Legal advisor for the ICOFCV, Santiago Sevilla, said the work was “seriously endangering the health of users who, under false advertising, were receiving services the person was not qualified for” as well as dispensing drugs without having the correct level of knowledge.

The information has now been passed to police in Elche for an investigation to be carried out.
