Skydiving Mason to raise funds for Butterfly Children Charity

ON Saturday September 26 a brave Mason will Sky Dive 15,000ft over Sevilla as part of the Masons of Andalucía’s three year pledge to raise €60,000 for the Butterfly Children Charity, DEBRA Spain.

In January 2015 the Masons of Andalucía launched a three year festival to raise awareness and funds for the Butterfly Children Charity, DEBRA Spain. So far they have raised €15,000 by arranging many exciting activities throughout the 15 Masonic Lodges of Andalucía. They have lots more events planned, however, the upcoming event could be the most thrilling as Elvin Burdon aged 71, a Mason from the Coin Lodge prepares to Sky Dive 15,000ft out of an aircraft!

The inspiration came from a friend of Elvin’s, Manni Schaare aged 65, an ex-German paratrooper.

On September 26, Elvin and Manni will travel to La Juliana Aerodrome in Sevilla to complete this challenge of a life time. However for Elvin the importance goes beyond a personal achievement “these children are only starting out in life, they deserve all the help they can get. I feel very proud and humble to be able to contribute in this way.”

To follow and support the event a crowdfunding site has been set up at www.gofundme.com/butterflyskydive.
