€12,000 bike retrieved by police

NATIONAL POLICE has retrieved a bicycle priced at €12,000 which was stolen from the Orica Greenedge cycling team in Malaga during the Spanish Cycling Tour.

A statement released by the National Police force, reported that two officers found the bike while inspecting a second-hand shop in Malaga City. The bike had been priced at €120 and this sparked the suspicions of the two police officers, due to the exceptional features of the bike, which indicated a much higher original price.

Authorities were able to find out the bike had been stolen after the tour’s stage in Malaga had finished.

The bicycle has been returned to its owners and the culprit of the theft is currently being hunted by police.
