Activities to improve mobility in Rincon de la Victoria

ACCESSIBILITY for all and using environment-friendly means of transport are a priority for the Rincon de la Victoria Council.

The town has joined the network of Spanish towns which will participate in the European Week for Mobility, organised by European and National institutions as an initiative by platform Do The Right Mix. The project has been designed to promote alternative means of transport besides vehicles as well as encourage the usage of public transport, bicycles and walking.

It is the first time that the town, together with 258 other Spanish cities will participate in the event, according to Sustainable Mobility councillor, Pedro Fernandez Ibar, who explained that a great variety of activities will take place from September 16 to September 22, including sports, culture, informative and environment-related events.

On September 18, there will be a guided visit conducted by the Taha Association entitled ‘Stroll around an Andalusi town,’ with its departure point at the Supersol square.

On September 19, the Local Police will carry out a road safety workshop in Plaza de la Constitucion, especially designed for families with children, from 10am to 1pm.

September 21 will crown the winner of the Bike Day drawing contest and finally, on September 22, there will be an awareness event, which is to take participants in a stroll around the town to analyse the areas which present a higher issue for accessibility.
