A 50-YEAR-OLD tourist from Valencia was arrested for scratching six letters on a wall inside the Bellver Castle.
He was visiting the castle and was caught on CCTV cameras alone on the stairs leading to the upper terrace and with a sharp object scratched letters 20cm wide and 8cm high on the wall of the building which is classified as an asset of cultural interest and is a protected site. He was held by a guard until Local Police arrived.
The damage could cost up to €4,000 to repair.
