MALLORCA’S most important art event, the Nit de l’Art will be held in Palma on September 19.
Art galleries, museums and studios open their doors until around midnight and simultaneously inaugurate exhibitions. Palma’s vibrant contemporary art scene means that thousands of people take to the streets, wandering from exhibition to exhibition – often encountering art performances in the streets along the way.
Starting from 7pm, as well as the organised exhibitions, there are always impromptu events, which add to the fascination of La Nit de l’Art. You don’t have to be a lover of art to appreciate this memorable and sociable evening although, increasingly, the event is attracting serious art collectors who come from countries such as Britain, Germany and Russia for private viewings before it opens to the public.
You can pick up a list and map of participating galleries throughout Palma in the galleries themselves.
