AS the city recovered from the weekend’s floods, figures released showed that Torrevieja recorded a higher than normal average temperature during August of a balmy 27.9 degrees.

The Mastral Project which records temperatures said whilst August was still very hot “it was more bearable compared with July” adding that “rains fell within what could be considered normal.”

The figures emerged from data collected by the weather stations that make up Torrevieja’s Mastral, which recorded August 13 as being the hottest day with temperatures hitting 38.2 degrees in the city centre.
