TWO mountain walkers were rescued after getting lost in the Sierra Nevada national park.
They advised the emergency services at around 6pm after becoming disorientated in Barranco de las Amoladeras.
They could not give their exact location but it was raining and misty, visibility was bad and they were not equipped for the cold, they said.
A group of 17 Guardia Civil and Proteccion searchers finally located them at 4am, sheltering in a grove of holm oaks, 1,500 metres above sea level showing symptoms of hypothermia.
Medical assistance was not required, however, and their rescuers accompanied them on foot back to Laujar de Andarax.
