JAVEA International College (XIC) continued its examination success this summer with fantastic grades at all levels – GCSE, IGCSE, Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced, as well as the Cambridge English exams and was paid a special visit by the mayor, Jose Chulvi, who congratulated the students and teachers on their success.
In total 94 per cent of students gained A*-C GCSE grades in five or more subjects, much higher than the UK national average of 65 per cent, and top grades of A*/A were achieved by a staggering 46 per cent of students, again far above that in the UK which was 21 per cent. At Advanced level, there was a 93 per cent pass rate among XIC students.
There are currently some 25 nationalities represented at XIC, creating a truly international learning environment with native English speakers accounting for one third of the GCSE students this year.
Native Spanish speakers also obtained the Educación Secundaria Obligatoria certificate (ESO) thus benefiting from two European education systems.
