Improvements made to old alley in Casares

WORK on Callejon de la Cruz Colora alleyway in Casares, one of the jobs most requested in recent years by local residents, has been completed leaving it in tip-top condition and easier to walk along.

After the old, deteriorated surface was removed, new water pipes and drainage systems were installed before a new surface was laid with local stone, with the steepest slopes being given shallow steps and handrails.

Cruz Colora, the council reported, was one of the few remaining alleyways in the village in need of improvement, along with one between Calle Barrio Bajo and Calle Barrio Alto, which is due to be worked on in the near future.
