Costa Coffee, a British firm and second largest coffee chain in the world, with over 2,950 establishments in 30 different countries worldwide, has opted to initially establish two stores in the Valencian capital due to the importance it has acquired in recent years as an international tourist destination.
Founded in 1971 in the UK by brothers Sergio and Bruno Costa, Costa Coffee boats annual sales of £1.3 billion (€1.7 billion), making it the second largest operator in the sector globally.
In addition to coffees, teas and smoothies, the chain also offers snacks, sandwiches and salads as well as desserts and sweets; a cross between a cafeteria and fast-food establishment.
