SPANISH company Tecnilogica compiled a map of 37 million potential adulterers on the hacked Ashley Madison list.
It revealed more than 1 million members in Spain, of whom 75,000 are, or were, located in the Valencian Community.
Ashley Madison is a website that facilitates affairs between consenting adults. Until the site – slogan “Life is short, have an affair” – was hacked, it was a safe place to seek a no-strings extra-marital partner.
Safe no longer, details from the hacked website showed the Valencia airport town of Manises, famous for its pottery, had the highest proportion of Ashley Madison users. For every 100,000 members of the Manises population, 526 residents were on the website.
Most of the Valencian Region’s 75,000 members were concentrated in the Community’s three capitals with 27,847 in Valencia City, 9,427 in Alicante City and 4,728 in Castellon City.
Gandia with 2,029 members had more than any other Costa Blanca resort, followed by Benidorm (1,915) and Torrevieja (1,629).
The Valencian Community has the fourth-highest number of members – 118 – asking to be removed from the Ashley Madison site. It is preceded by Andalucia (182), Cataluña (320) and Madrid (399).
