Former Mayor’s commitment unsatisfied

THE facilities which were to be AFADAX Alzheimer’s charity’s new headquarters in Velez-Malaga, are now on shaky ground and the new government is unsure whether to hand them over or not.

Spokesperson and former mayor of Velez-Malaga Francisco Delgado Bonilla, denounced that the new local government made up by a three-way coalition (PSOE, Partido Andalucista and Torre del Mar Independent party GIPMTM), is now refusing to hand over to Alzheimer’s association AFADAX the new Day-Care centre, recently constructed next to the old San Juan de Dios Hospital.

Back in May, Delgado Bonilla announced the facilities were to be donated to this local charity, which was to be in charge of the users’ treatment and assistance.

“It is lamentable that the new government is refusing to satisfy the needs of the charity associations of the town,” the ex-mayor said, and continued: “In fact, the renovation project had been especially designed for them with an exercise and rehabilitation area and another for occupational therapy, a kitchen and a canteen, amongst other facilities.”
