CRUZ ROJA has described the current summer in Torrevieja as “calm.”

Head of the beach rescue and lifeguard department of the Cruz Roja, Jose Miguel Ferrandez, told Spanish daily Informacion, figures are registering a negative trend this year, with only 260 rescued and 3,000 first aid services.

“It has been a summer low in incidents, even though two people have died from the beginning of summer until August 25, but we cannot confirm the death was caused by drowning. Both victims were elderly.
