BOOM TIME: The UK and Nordic countries lead the rebound of visitor arrivals.

TOURISM income continues to break records

FOREIGN tourism in Valencia is riding high, to the tune of €816 million, in fact.

The region saw an increase of 11 per cent compared with July 2014, according to the latest figures for July. The Tourist Expenditure Survey (Egatur) revealed that the spending boom is due to the increase in tourists from the UK and Nordic countries.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Tourism, the survey indicated a rebound in visitor arrivals from the UK and the Nordic countries, with annual increases of 22 and 21 per cent respectively.

The survey also highlighted that as well as foreign tourists spending € 816 million in July, tourism continues breaking records in that in the first seven months of this year, total spending by foreign tourists in the Valencian Community has been €3.1 billion, 8.2 per cent more than last year.
