TWITCHER tourism seems to be alive and kicking in the Axarquia region, with enthusiastic bird-watchers flocking to the area.
The Malaga Province boasts some of the best destinations, not only for its beaches and sunny season, but also for bird enthusiasts who, during the past few years, have chosen various different coastal and inland areas to catch a glimpse of some beautiful species.
A new website has been launched by the Malaga Provincial Council, Birding Malaga, available at www.birdingmalaga.es, offering routes, watching points and tourist services, as well as information on different kinds of birds that can be spotted in the area, its habitats and recommended periods of the year to do so.
