LETTERS and packets are arriving at their destination much later than usual in several towns of Almeria, according to Correos employees.
The trade union representing Almeria postal services has criticised the current lack of staff in the Huercal-Overa delivery unit which, according to the union and several residents, is causing a delay in delivery in the municipalities belonging to the branch – Arboleas, Zurgena, Taberno and Huercal-Overa.
Since the beginning of the summer, this unit has been complaining of a lack of personnel, saying the workers are under an excessive level of stress, as they have to deal with packets and letters which are piling up as certain areas are not being covered.
