A HUGE fire at Dublin airport has caused flights to and from the city to be suspended on Wednesday morning. The blaze engulfed a hanger, which authorities have said was situated away from passenger facilities, and no casualties have been reported.

The Irish fire service said that the blaze was reported at 7am, and contained by 8.15am, with the airport fire crew supported by vehicles which rushed to the scene from elsewhere in Dublin. However, flights are not expected to resume until lunchtime.

A spokesperson asked passengers hoping to travel to or from Dublin on Wednesday to contact their airline for further information.
