A MURDER investigation is underway after a 79-year-old pensioner was rushed to hospital in London on Sunday evening (August 23) suffering with stab wounds but he was declared dead soon after arrival.
Two young children from the same address in Tower Hamlets were also discovered with stab wounds whilst a third had minor injuries. All three are described by the hospital as being in a stable condition.
According to the Metropolitan Police a 31-year-old man suffering from what were believed to be self-inflicted wounds was arrested on suspicion of murder and he will be formally interviewed once released from hospital.
At this stage it is not known whether the man and the victims are related although in a statement, the police said that “detectives are not seeking any other persons in connection with this incident.”
