Gibraltar Airport Terminal.
ACCORDING to a statement released today, easyJet has now carried one million passengers on its London Gatwick to Gibraltar route.
The low-cost airline took over GB Airways from BA in 2008 and soon began operating on this popular route. With daily flights to Gatwick and regular flights each week to Bristol the airline has seen a steady increase in passenger traffic over the years and now looks to carry around 130,000 passengers to and from Gibraltar on an annual basis.
The recently built airport terminal has made passenger transit much easier and the airport gives relatively painless access to Spain just across the border by foot or vehicle.
Passengers travelling to Gibraltar by air help to boost the local economy and easyJet flights give Gibraltarians easy access to one of London’s busiest airports, said Minister for Tourism Samantha Sacramento.
