Tourists killed in Bangkok bombing

A BOMB has gone off at a major tourist site in central Bangkok, Thailand, killing at least 27 people and injuring more than 80 according to local media.
The blast, near Erawan Hindu shrine in downtown Chidlom district, is thought to have killed four foreigners visiting the popular shopping area.
A second bomb was also found inside the shrine and defused by explosives teams and there are reports of a third device found on a train.
Although so far no groups have claimed responsibility for the attack, Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwong declared: “the people who did it targeted foreigners and to damage tourism and the economy.”
Witnesses reported that buildings shook with the force of the blast and the scene was left strewn with body parts and debris.
