Mijas Attracts the Stars to sing under the Stars

THE hot summer nights brought more stars to the stage of the Mijas auditorium last night (Saturday 15th August) in the form of a fantastic variety show that included tributes to Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Joe Cocker, Freddie Murcury, The Rat Pack, and Robbie Williams.

The show was opened with some of the great hits of Michael Buble that warmed the hearts of the audience and set the scene for more of the evening’s entertainment.

Jo Cocker AKA Mel Williams performed giving some great renditions of the star’s songs with his fine gravelly voice, Freddie Mercury leaped off the stage into the aisle to sing and dance among the crowds during his performance.

The Rat Pack simply stole the show as Dean Martin AKA Dave Lee, Frank Sinatra AKA Martyn Joseph and Sammy Davies Junior AKA Thomas Henry entered the stage in style. These three guys ooze class and elegance as they perform between their wit and banter which brings magic to the whole of their show.

It was not long before they had the entire auditorium up from their seats to join in the swinging songs they delivered superbly. They sang a spectacular showcase including That’s Life, Fly Me to the Moon, Mr Bo Jangles, My Way and ended with the audience swaying away to their grand finale of New York New York.

Mijas was alive and kicking yet again thanks to these fine acts that have graced the auditorium with their presence.

Look out for some more great shows there on August 21 and 29 and be prepared for a great night out!
