Marbella beaches are now open to all

BEACHES are finally accessible for all in Marbella. The city’s beaches now have three specially adapted ‘amphibious chairs,’ which will allow visitors with mobility problems and physical disabilities to access the water. This service will be available on beaches across El Faro, San Pedro and Pinomar as well as in Las Chapas.
“We believe it is only fair that all citizens, regardless of a disability, can enjoy our beaches,” said Sustainability councillor, Miguel Diaz, who added that the local government was also expecting to be able to adapt the beach facilities with other structures such as ramps, wooden walkways, as well as parking spaces and toilets especially designed for people with disabilities.
“We wish to guarantee the rights to enjoy the beach, and encourage diversity and integration,” said Mr Diaz.
To be able to use this chairs, those interested only have to contact the Civil Protection or lifeguard teams at the specific beach.
