FASHION and trends magazine Vogue in its section ‘Living la Vida,’ has featured a comprehensive report starring Almeria and the many reasons for tourists to visit.

Under the title ‘The Ultimate Guide to get to know Almeria,’ the stylish publication talks about the province as “a paradisiacal corner of the peninsula, shelter for artists and home to many cinema productions.”

“Almeria is defined by sea and air, and defined by the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata one of the most important natural monuments in Spain,” continues the author of the article, Beatriz de Asis. She adds: “Pronouncing Almeria brings to mind its white homes, sunflowers, blue sky, prickly pear trees, mountains, strolls and, to sum it up, the good life.”

The article also takes the reader through the province’s most well-known movie moments: “During the 50s and 60s, a great number of spaghetti western movies were filmed in Almeria, where remains of this golden era of cinema can still be seen up to this day.”

Almeria, says the author, is a paradise for sports-enthusiasts as it has beaches, and mountains, deserts and forests, spectacular hiking trails and seabeds – a wide variety for those who are sport savvy.

Finally, she describes Almeria City as a 200,000-inhabitant city with a large number of must-sees in terms of culture, cuisine and tourism.
