Fashion sales picking up across Mallorca

FASHION boutiques in Mallorca have reported that in June and July they had the highest level of sales in seven years.

Businesses selling clothes, shoes and accessories have seen sales rising since November and report that the past two months have seen the highest number of clients and the most sales for seven years.

According to commerce union Pimeco, shopkeepers have given July 6.3 marks out of 10. Since 2008, the best months had been December 2014 (5.8 out of 10) and July and August 2008, with similar marks. The union believes this proves the sector is recovering.

Compared to July 2014, sales are up by 14.5 per cent and 60 per cent of shopkeepers say they have sold more.
