Almeria oil rated best in the world

AN OLIVE OIL brand produced in Almeria has been crowned as ‘Best Ecologic Oil’ in the world. 

The Oro del Desierto (Dessert’s Gold) has competed against other 25 olive oil brands at the World’s Best Olive Oils Contest which gathered 12 oils from Italy, 10 from Spain, two from Greece and one from Portugal. 

Produced in Tabernas, this golden liquid has not only been ranked as the best ecologic oil in the world, but also took the third position in the general list, which includes both ecologic and regular oils. 

The international ranking was created in 2012 by the prestigious German oil-taster Heiko Schmidt.
