KING Felipe VI has said that he is willing to discuss the plans of the Balearic Government to open the gardens of the Marivent Palace to the public.

During a photo-shoot at the palace, where he is holidaying with his family, he confirmed that he would take part in the King’s Cup Sailing championship and that he was not sure how long they would remain on the island.

He said that he planned to collaborate with the regional government and to deal with the matter in a “normal manner” so that it would be done properly. The mayor, Jose Hila, said that opening the gardens to the public would be a tourist attraction which would help to boost commerce in Cala Major.
