GERMAN police have arrested a man suspected of recruiting for Islamic State (IS) in Spain. He was apprehended in Stuttgart on Tuesday (August 4), the Spanish Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday.
A Spanish court had issued a warrant for the man’s arrest, the ministry saying he was “very active on social networking sites, playing the role of recruiter by touting the benefits of joining (IS) fighters.”
The Moroccan national, who lived in Spain, had dodged raids carried out in Lanzarote, where a woman was taken into custody over accusations of recruiting girls to the jihadist organisation.
