HELP delivers essentials to Gandia shelter

HELP of Denia and Marina Alta has come to the aid of the Franciscan Brother’s Shelter in Gandia with a wonderful donation of bedding and clothing.
Candy Wright, President of HELP, delivered summer bed sheets, towels and sandals. Brother Pepe and novice Jordi helped Candy unload her car and said they were overwhelmed by the donations. The men at the shelter rely solely on donations and their needs change with the seasons.
After the donations were unpacked Candy was invited to share the Saturday communal lunch which is prepared by different volunteers every Saturday. Candy helped with the serving of a delicious Gazpacho, chicken and chorizo stew, ice cream and fruit salad. Candy said she was humbled by the experience and admired the volunteers for their dedication and positive attitude.
The Shelter, which is totally funded by charitable donations, urgently requires single wardrobes as the new arrivals only have chairs for their belongings. If you have anything that would be suitable for the Shelter or would like to get involved as a volunteer then please call HELP on 966 427 044.
