A MAN, 55, was arrested in Palma for allegedly threatening his neighbour with a shotgun following an argument.
The detainee had entered his neighbour’s garden, supposedly to pick lemons, without his permission, and the homeowner reprimanded him, to which he responded by threatening to shoot him. He headed home and shortly afterwards, his neighbour heard him preparing the shotgun and shooting twice.
A woman living nearby alerted the police, who arrived wearing bullet-proof vests. They rang the doorbell and were met by a man in his underwear who was obviously drunk. They found the shotgun inside, ready to use, as well as cartridges from the previous shots. However, the suspect said he had been shooting at stray cats that he said were hiding in the bushes in his neighbour’s garden.
