Fire in Nerja hotel sees several buildings evacuated

A FIRE started in the electricity meter room in a hotel of Nerja spread to the laundry of the building.
The emergency services were alerted in the early hours of Thursday (July 30) at around 1.17am to a fire in a hotel located at Calle Chaparil. Local Police, Guardia Civil and the Fire Brigade as well as health care workers attended the area.
Firefighters confirmed the fire had completely destroyed the laundry. This hotel and another one next to it had to be evacuated, as well as several bars of the area.
No casualties were registered and all those evacuated were able to return to their rooms shortly after.
