THE Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre in Rojales would like to say a big thank you to Roy, one of their supporters who put his heavy work load on hold to arrive at the rescue centre to fit an air conditioning unit in one of the stables.
“Roy came at 8am this morning to install an air conditioner for Dolores. She has a lung infection and COPD that always causes her real problems in the heat. This year as it has been hotter than usual – the fans we normally use were not enough,” said co-founder of Easy Horse Care, Sue Weeding.
“Her stable is a lovely 25C now and she is much happier. She is a very old horse that came to us two and a half years ago with pneumonia and serious breathing difficulties. The man that brought her had her tied behind his van and she had to run to keep up and almost collapsed when she arrived. She is an incredibly tenacious old horse that never gives up so we will never give up on her.”
The Rescue Centre relies solely on donations to fund its animal welfare work and to cover the cost of feeding and caring for more than 90 horses, ponies and donkeys currently at the centre.
The centre, located just outside Rojales at Partido Lo Garriga 59, opens to the public on the first Sunday of every month from 1pm to 4pm. For more details and directions, please visit www.easyhorsecare.net or to volunteer in any way call Sue on 652 021 980.
