British Prime Minister hires Spanish businesswoman as economic advisor

HEAD of the Santander banking group, Ana Botin, has been chosen by British Prime Minister David Cameron to be part of his Business Advisory Group.
Ms Botin, who was head of the British branch of Santander between 2010 and 2014, will share responsibilities with 18 other members including Bob Dudley, the delegate from BP, advisor for the London Stock Exchange Xavier Rolet, Steve Varley, president of EY, and Warren East, from Rolls Royce.
This team will hold meetings three times a month to provide the prime minister with analysis on issues regarding the economy and business in the UK, according to the information released by the government.
“To facilitate an open and fruitful dialogue, discussions will be informal and participants are expected to offer their opinions from a personal rather than economic perspective,” finished the statement.
